Welcome

SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE

Who We Are &

God’s Mission

We are Hallelujah House, a church in Charlotte, NC that meets in homes.

We are Jesus-changed, Spirit-moved participants with God in his mission.

We believe God’s mission is to establish his kingdom through Jesus by finding the lost and forming the found.

We want to be a part of that, and are giving our lives to the journey. Come and join us in it!

We meet each Sunday morning at a large white house in downtown Matthews, NC. The home belongs to Rainbow Express Ministries, who have graciously allowed Hallelujah House to meet on their grounds since 2022. When you get there just find a spot to park, come up the stairs to the door on the right, and walk right in!

about us

Meeting in homes

Most American churches don’t meet in homes, and we’re thankful to God for churches that meet in all sorts of places. The church is the body of Jesus, a people (not a place). We meet in homes because we are inclined toward both participation and multiplication. Smaller settings help us toward both!

What to expect on Sunday

When you worship with us, you can expect to sing, pray, and hear people talk about the bible and their experience of walking with Jesus. Expect many to speak up – to contribute a song, an encouragement, a prophecy, a teaching, a prayer. Expect kids joining in the fun of worshiping Jesus, and an intimate experience of the teaching of the scriptures. Most importantly, you can expect to be immediately seen, welcomed, and loved.

Our story

We’ll save the long version for Sunday morning after service. But here’s the short of it: we began as a group of friends sent out from Mercy Church here in Charlotte. In 2020, a couple of our families began to sense the leading of the Holy Spirit to consider stepping into this new work together. In 2021, we were sent out together and joined by others. Since the beginning we have sought most simply to follow the Chief Shepherd together into whatever it is he calls us to, at his pace and with his ongoing direction. It’s still our hope – to follow in the commands of Jesus, receiving the direction and power of the Spirit as we walk with him.
